ProBots Family

After spending ten years teaching in the Bahamas, I came back to Ottawa to take a position as a computer science and mathematics teacher, in 1998. In 2001, I became involved with the Glebe Robotics team, mentoring them for 14 years. In this capacity I have been involved with FIRST Robotics, IEEE LEGO robotics, Ontario Skills Robotics and VEX Robotics. The Glebe Collegiate Robotics team, under my mentorship has done well. We qualified twice and participated, once in the VEX World Championships. I, personally have volunteered as a Referee for the VEX Worlds in Anaheim, California in 2014 and in Louisville, Kentucky in 2015 and 2016.

Retiring from teaching in June of 2013, I remained as a mentor for the Glebe Robotics Team, till June 2015. My passion for robotics and helping students to pursue careers in STEM education, is what has prompted me to start ProBots Ottawa. I hope to be able to reach a far greater number of students allowing them the opportunity of discovering the world of robotics. I am currently the Canadian VEX Robotics Competition Coordinator allowing me to only provide robotics classes during the summer.

ProBots Ottawa is a STEM VEX after school and summer camp program. We teach the design, building and coding of VEX IQ robots.

ProBots Ottawa offers classes in the designing, building and programming of VEX IQ robots. We will be forming VEX IQ and VEX EDR competition teams in early June.
